As part of the regulations set out by the Code of Practice (Sept 2014) all SENDCOs should have completed the National Award for SENDCOs within 3 years of appointment as SENDCO. Please see more about what we offer our families and children below.

Blackpool has a Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support Service called SENDIASS

They aim to encourage and develop partnerships between children, young people, parents and carers, schools, Blackpool council and anyone who may be involved in working to identify, assess and meet the special educational needs of children and young people 0-25 years, who live in Blackpool.

They can provide you with free impartial, information, advice and support on the following:

•          Education matters

•          Local policy

•          Personal budgets

•          Preparation for adulthood

•          The law on SEND and equality

•          The EHCP process

•          Support at meeting (attendance subject to availability)

•          Filling in forms

•          Understanding reports and letters

•          Resolving disagreements including disagreement resolution, mediation and tribunal

•          Signposting

•          Links to local parent support groups and forums.
