We offer Nursery provision from the age of 2years and all children are entitled to 15 hours a week free Nursery provision the term after their third birthday. We also accomodate for Nursery aged children whose parents meet the eligibility criteria for the 30hr grant. Please visit us to make further enquiries on how this works.
Our Nursery sessions run as follows:
We also are able to offer the opportunity for children to stay all day in Nursery from 8:30 to 3:00, with an additional charge of £3.25 to include a school lunch. Additional sessions are £10.50 each if you choose to use our services over the 15hrs funded arrangements.
We also offer after school club for Nursery provision from 3pm till 5:30 daily at a cost of an additional £8.75.
Nursery have their own entrance so that you can bring and collect your child from their room, and chat to the staff about your child’s progress.
Nursery Activities The Nursery is very well equipped with a wide range of toys, musical instruments, construction and practical equipment. We are very lucky to have an attractive purpose built building, with a bright and spacious classroom.
Outside there is a brand new large, secure play area with a grassed section with climbing and exploration opportunities galore, as well as a large sand pit, a double water tray and even a place to make mud pies.
We are lucky enough to have our own art studio, where your child can develop their creative, physical and language skills. The children experience clay, water colours, weaving, and recyclable art, surrounded by lots of interesting objects to explore.
Uniform is optional for Nursery children, but lots of children want to look like the older children. The children are very busy painting, digging, playing with playdough and other messy activities so any clothing worn for Nursery needs to be practical. If you would like your child to wear uniform a white polo shirt, a blue sweatshirt or cardigan, grey trousers or a skirt are needed. The polo shirt and sweatshirts are available from the School Office.
You are welcome to visit the Nursery at any time: the Early Years Leader Mrs Thomas would love to show you around so please contact the School Office on 761531 to arrange a suitable time.
If you would like a place at Mereside Nursery, please collect an admission form from the Office. We will then contact you to arrange Stay & Play dates to enable your child to be comfortable with staff and the setting before starting Nursery.
