In History, children learn about people’s lives and life styles. They find out about significant people, places and events from the recent and more distant past, including those from both Britain and the wider world.

They listen and respond to stories and use sources of information to help them ask and answer questions. They learn how the present is different from the past.

The children look at History in a variety of ways, for example, from political, social, religious and cultural perspectives among others. They use different sources of information to help them investigate the past in depth and overview. They also learn that the past can be represented in different ways.
